NBN™ Residential Internet FAQ's

No. There are no connection fee’s or contract when signing up with InfiNet Broadband’s NBN™ services for personal home use or business use. 

In most cases, NBN™ co installs the NBN™ network at your home at no cost. For new homes that have never had internet before, there is a $300.00 (incl. GST) NBN™ New Development Charge which you’ll need to pay for each premises in a new development. NBN™ recover the charge from Internet Service Providers, who on-charge this amount to end-users. Alternatively, NBN™ may recover the charge from another person (e.g. a state or territory housing authority, landlord or developer)

There are 7 different NBN™ connection types. To check what connection type you are on, please use our address checker.

You require an NBN™ compatible router or modem.

If your NBN™ premises is serviced via Fibre to the Premises (FTTP), Fibre to the Curb (FTTC), Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC), Fixed Wireless or Satellite (SkyMuster) then your modem must have a WAN or Internet port

If your NBN™ is serviced via Fibre to the Node (FTTN) or Fibre to the Building (FTTB) then your modem must have a VDSL or VDSL2 port

The 6 different NBN Residential speed tiers InfiNet Offer are:

  1. NBN 25/10Mbps = 25Mbps download and 10Mbps upload
  2. NBN 50/20Mbps = 50Mbps download and 20Mbps upload
  3. NBN 100/20Mbps = 100Mbps download and 20Mbps upload
  4. NBN 100/40Mbps = 100Mbps download and 40Mbps upload
  5. NBN 250/25Mbps = 250Mbps download and 25Mbps upload*
  6. NBN 1000/50Mbps = 1000Mbps download and 50Mbps upload*
